The Eighth National Clinical Conference on Cannabis Therapeutics
Pre-Conference Workshop:

Core Curriculum for Cannabis Nursing

Presented by the American Cannabis Nurses Association

This seminar will include an overview of cannabis as medicine including history, federal status, and current legal status. The various cannabinoids will be reviewed and the newly discovered endogenous cannabinoid system (ECS) that is present in all humans will be explained. Attendees will be introduced to the emerging science on the ECS, which is helping to explain how and why cannabis is a safe and effective medication for a wide array of illnesses and conditions. The nurse’s role in patient care and education regarding the safe use of cannabis, including ingestion methodologies and interactions with prescription opiates, will be discussed.
